Education First Foundation Inc. founded in 2010 is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization and known by IRS to be the #1 Free Tax Preparation organization in South Florida. We partner with programs such as VITA and TCE to make this service available to the community. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free basic tax return for low and moderate income taxpayers, persons with disabilities*, and limited English speaking taxpayers. Tax Counseling for the Elderly program offers FREE tax assistance for those ages 60 and up.

Income tax is one of the most dreaded words during the months of January 1st  through April 15th . It does not need to be that way. We will prepare your income tax for FREE. The objective is to allow the client to benefit from the tax credit available to them by saving an average of $200 – $500 in preparation fees. Most importantly you will receive assistance with corrections going back to the past five years that need to be made on your file. For example, IRS transcripts, multiple years of tax preparation, unfiled tax returns, assisting with ALL IRS notices, and all other tax matters. We are recognized by IRS as one of the top income tax preparers in the tri-county area.

To have a successful tax preparation session, you will need to bring the following to the appointment:

  • Personal information (ID, social security card and/or tax number)
  • Spouses full name, social security card and/or tax number, and date of birth
  • Identity Protection PIN
  • Routing and account numbers
  • Foreign reporting and residency information – if applicable
  • Childcare records (including the provider’s tax ID number) if applicable
  • Income of dependents and of other adults in your home
  • 1095- A (Health insurance marketplace)
  • W-2 Form (Wages from each job)
  • W-2G (Gambling winnings)
  • 1099-INT (Interest)
  • 1099-DIV (Dividends)
  • 1099-R (Retirement plan)
  • SSA-1099 (Social Security benefits)
  • 1098-E (Interest paid on student loans)
  • 1099-C (Cancellation of debt)
  • 1099MISC (Miscellaneous income)
  • 1098-T (Scholarships, grants, tuition payments to attend a university, or technical college)
